Transparencies are a great accent for any scrapbook page. I use them over photos most often. Many people are not sure how to adhere a transparency to their page or photo. The tool that I use to do this is a stapler! The function is great and the staple is the hottest basic embellishment in scrapbooking! Before stapling, I use a small piece of ribbon to make a tab or flag. Ribbon can be used as an extra layer on top or behind any transparency. Writing on transparencies can also be questionable. I use fine point Sharpie markers to do journaling right on the transparency. My favorite transparencies are made by My Mind's Eye, Hambly, and Maya Road.
Look for them at Scrapaganza!

Transparencies are great for highlighting a photo. Use the pre printed framed ones (my mind's eye) or add your own stamped or doodled border to put over a photo you want to draw attention to. I like to use the pre printed framed ones & cut the middle out just leaving the outside edge & then cut the frame into two pieces at the corner. I put the pieces on the outside of photos or journaling boxes to add dimension.
Also try inking with Stazon or paint. You can cut out the stamped image or leave it in a whole big piece & overlay it that way.
Printing your photos or journaling directly on the transparencies is a fun look!
There are No Rules, it is all up to your imagination!

I love the versatility of transparencies, and Hambly has some of the best! A sheet full of frames, borders/strips, journaling spots... Transparencies are nice because you can cut them up and use them in pieces, or if a 12x12 pattern, the whole sheet can be used! They come in great colors too! They can be fastened with staples, glue dots hidden under the design, or with eyelets and brads. They are fun to use "unconventionally" too... Cut a circle frame in half and use it offset. Tilt a frame so it doesn't fit the picture the "normal" way... the only limitation is your imagination! Don't forget to pick up some "slick writers" to write on your journaling spots! (Quick drying and none smearing made for slick surfaces!)

Being that I am no longer working at the store on a regular basis and instead am inspiring first graders, I don’t have the opportunity to stop in and check out the new stuff as often as before. However I was just in today and picked up the new Hambly. I am so excited to work with it. I bought almost the whole line, I just love how versatile it is! As soon as I came home I had to lay it all out on my counter in my scrap room. I like just looking at it, it inspires me to be creative!
I also love transparencies because they really dress up a page. There are so many great over lay transparencies these days that work great on sports pages. You can see in one layout the difference the over lay made and it’s so easy you just slide it in your page cover right over top of your layout!

My favorite use of transparencies has been to make a mini album (you know how I love mini albums!) I just collected several transparencies and several pictures and alternated so every picture had a transparency in front of it. It is completely random and went together very cute. (it is on display at the store) Now that we got Hambly I am very excited to try a completely clear album!
